SATsReady Privacy Policy

Last updated: [29/08/26]

SATsReady is an online educational service designed to help families prepare for the UK Key Stage 2 SATs.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information SATsReady collects, how we use it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and what rights you have.

SATsReady is operated by [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME] ("we", "us" or "our").

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle personal information, please contact us at [EMAIL ADDRESS].

1. Who this policy applies to

SATsReady is designed for parents and carers who create an account and use the service to support a child's SATs preparation.

The parent or carer creates and controls the SATsReady account. A child may use the service to answer practice and mock-test questions through that account.

We do not require a child to provide their name, age, school, year group, address or other direct identifying information.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you create or use a SATsReady account, we may process:

  • your email address;

  • your SATsReady user/account ID;

  • your name where it is supplied by an authentication provider, such as Google.

If you register using email and password, authentication is handled by our authentication provider. SATsReady does not store your password in its own application database.

Child assessment information

When a child uses SATsReady through the parent's account, we store information about their use of the educational service. This may include:

  • questions answered;

  • answers selected;

  • whether an answer was correct;

  • time taken to answer questions;

  • practice-session scores and percentages;

  • mock-test scores and percentages;

  • skills attempted;

  • aggregated performance by skill;

  • the areas identified as needing further practice;

  • recommendations for subsequent targeted practice.

This information is linked to the parent's SATsReady account rather than to a child's name.

We do not ask for or require the child's name, age, school or other direct identifying information.

Payment and subscription information

Payments are processed through Stripe.

SATsReady stores information needed to manage your subscription, which may include:

  • your SATsReady user ID;

  • Stripe customer ID;

  • Stripe subscription ID;

  • subscription plan;

  • subscription status;

  • subscription period information;

  • the resulting access permissions for Maths and/or English.

SATsReady does not receive or store your full card number, CVV or bank account details. Payment information is entered on Stripe's payment pages.

Technical information

Our application code does not contain an analytics or advertising tracking system and does not deliberately collect information such as your phone number, postal address, date of birth or postcode.

The underlying platforms we use may maintain technical or security logs as part of providing their services. We cannot describe platform-level logging beyond what is available to us.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and authenticate your SATsReady account;

  • provide access to the SATsReady service;

  • provide Maths and/or English practice;

  • mark answers and calculate scores;

  • maintain practice and mock-test history;

  • measure performance by skill;

  • identify areas where further practice may be useful;

  • recommend targeted practice;

  • generate targeted questions based on the skills requiring further practice;

  • manage subscriptions and access;

  • process payments through Stripe;

  • maintain the security and operation of the service;

  • respond to support requests and deal with technical problems;

  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use children's assessment information for advertising.

4. Personalisation and targeted practice

SATsReady uses assessment information to personalise the educational experience.

For example, the service may identify that a child has performed less well in a particular skill and recommend further practice in that area.

This process is intended solely to help the child practise areas where they may benefit from additional questions.

SATsReady does not use this information to make decisions about school admission, educational placement, employment, financial services, healthcare or other significant matters.

5. Artificial intelligence

SATsReady uses an AI question-generation service to help create practice questions.

When SATsReady asks the AI service to generate a question, the information sent is limited to information needed to construct the question, such as the subject, skill and question difficulty.

SATsReady does not send the child's name, email address, answers, scores, performance history or other personal assessment information to the AI question-generation service.

Generated questions become part of the SATsReady question bank and are not stored as a child's personal information.

6. Who we share information with

We use selected service providers to operate SATsReady.

Base44

Base44 provides elements of the application's hosting, authentication and database infrastructure.

Account and application information is processed through the services required to operate SATsReady.

Stripe

Stripe provides payment processing and subscription-management services.

Your email address and information necessary to identify and manage your subscription may be processed by Stripe.

Stripe handles payment card information on its own payment infrastructure.

AI question-generation service

SATsReady uses an AI service provided through Base44's platform to generate educational questions.

As described above, SATsReady does not send personal or child assessment information to this service when generating questions.

We do not sell children's information or personal information to third parties.

7. Children's information

We recognise that information about a child's educational performance deserves particular care.

SATsReady follows a data-minimisation approach. We do not require a child's name, school, age or other direct identifier in order to provide the service.

The assessment information we do process is used to provide the educational service, including scoring, progress tracking and targeted practice.

Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising their child's use of the service and for deciding whether SATsReady is appropriate for their child.

We do not use children's assessment information for advertising or behavioural marketing.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.

Access to user-specific assessment records is restricted so that authenticated users can access their own records.

Our backend services use authenticated access controls when processing user-specific information.

No method of transmitting or storing information online can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We will respond appropriately if we become aware of a personal-data security incident.

9. How long we keep information

SATsReady currently retains account, subscription and assessment information for as long as it is required to provide the service and maintain the associated account and records.

We do not currently operate an automatic deletion period for assessment history.

10. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights including:

  • the right to access personal information we hold about you;

  • the right to request correction of inaccurate information;

  • the right to request deletion of personal information;

  • the right to restrict certain processing;

  • the right to object to certain processing;

  • the right to data portability;

  • the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can exercise your rights by contacting [EMAIL ADDRESS].

You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your personal information has been handled unlawfully.

11. Parents and carers

SATsReady is designed around the parent or carer account.

Because we deliberately do not collect the child's name or other direct identifier, requests relating to a child's assessment information will normally be handled through the parent or carer account to which that information is linked.

12. International processing

Some of our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where this occurs, we will use appropriate safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when SATsReady changes or when legal or regulatory requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date.
